Department of Art Teaching

There are 3 assistant professors and 1 research assistant in our department which aims to train art educators who are knowledgeable in the field, who follow scientific studies, who question, who are aesthetic and highly appreciated, sensitive, creative and qualified. Department of Art Teaching which has started the education, will admit students for 2016-2017 academic year. During the education period which consists of the 4-year (8 semesters), students take compulsory basic, elective courses and specialization courses. In addition to the courses they have taken, students also complete the education with the internship training in the last two semesters (7th and 8th semesters). Our students can apply for student exchange programs such as Farabi, Mevlana and Erasmus and can take education in certain periods of their learning process in another higher education institution within or outside our country.

Our graduates of the Department of Art Teaching can work as Visual Arts Teachers at secondary and high schools. In addition to being visual arts teachers, our students can work as art consultants, curators in public institutions and private institutions, and can continue their home life as independent artists. They also have the opportunities to work as academics at universities to take post-graduate education, or to apply to the public institutions, by means of the Public Personnel Selection Exam.

In planning specialization, teaching, and elective courses our students have taken during the education process, it is aimed to blend the skills that they have in the field of fine arts with expert knowledge, to teach teaching knowledge, skills and values, to support students’ personal development, interests and talents.
